Not seeing SD card?

Recommended Posts

Computer is MAC, GPS is Montana 600.

Last night when I went to download a couple PQs I had to wait for an update to the Garmin software. When the update was done I downloaded the PQs.

Then exactly as I have been doing, I moved the PQs from the Downloads folder to the GARMIN/GPX folder on the SD card in the GPS.

Unplugged, turned on GPS and went to "Find a Geocache"--it returned "No Geocaches Found." Tried it again to be sure I was doing it right, same answer.

So then I moved the PQ files to the GARMIN/GPX folder on the Montana itself and all the geocaches were shown.

So did the update render my SD card useless?

You needed to reboot after the update first and then add the caches.

Do the caches actually need to be deleted from the SD card? The idea of an SD card was that it's a failsafe for any temporary glitch with the GPSr. I know it's unlikely that you do a firmware update in the field, but still. :anibad:
