+mikeD
I recently upgraded from a 64S to a 750T All went ok until today when it wont load PQ's The map and PQ are on an SD card It sometimes wirelessly loads them 'over the air' but as we know only in part. no real use Off the South Africa soon ,[am in the Uk,] and have put all on an SD card the OSM map and the PQ's in the GPX folder have tried putting both on the internal memory still no joy Map loads ok as when I zoom the 6000 miles the map shows ok. But not the 5 PQ's I have loaded What is not happening is that when starting the device the green progress bar is not showing on the "loading screen" normally you get " loading waypoints, tracks and routes" Don't get that just loading maps Have done a hard reset, still no joy Any ideas please?? The annoying thing is when putting the SD card in the old 64S all is well. Green bar " loads waypoints etc." and I can wiz down to SA and zoom in and the geocaches appear at the expected zoom level , 2 miles for me look forward... Mike D Quote Link to comment
+Atlas Cached
I am having similar issues with GPX/GGZ files. No green bar on boot, no updating of tracks, waypoints, routes, etc. My only workaround has been to Remove uSD card, reboot, delete the SQL directory on the GPSr, reboot, install uSD card, reboot. FYI, the maps do not go in the GPX directory, they go in the Garmin directory. Quote Link to comment
+Red90
Delete all GGZ and GPX files. Restart the GPS. Load up the PQs and re-start. Maps in Garmin directory. GPX files in Garmin/GPX directory. When looking for the caches at a different location, make sure you choose "search near" and find a nearby city or such. Searches are limited to a bit over 100 miles. Quote Link to comment

+mikeD
many thanks everyone for your helpful suggestions. I have tried them all in all sorts of combinations, loading maps and PQ both on to device and SD card. I have taken the card out, booted etc and put the card back in On one occasion I though it had worked, I go the green loading bar for " waypoints etc " and despite the fact that PQ's were on the card in the right folder they didn't show up on the device or map Looks like a call to Garmin tomorrow Needless to say I loaded all the south African PQ and maps on the 64S. All fired up Ok and I wizzed down the 6000 miles on the map and all the GC's showed up Bah!! Quote Link to comment

Make sure you are looking everywhere including hidden directories. Make sure you are not connected in MTP mode as all directories won't be possible to see. If you are using a MAC, empty the trash as it is stored on the device. Quote Link to comment

+mikeD
Thanks Red90 Yes I did the SQL deletion both on the device and the card. I am using Windows 10. There is a myriad of folders on the device but no other seem relevant Not sure what MTP mode is? Is it a MAC thing ? Mike Quote Link to comment

+mikeD
Cracked it! Rang Garmin Europe, 20 min wait in Q. Explained issue and actions taken to Guy on help desk . He said " hold on"....... & went away While waiting I checked device again, fired it up > green bar " waypoints etc" ran, nothing shown in the geocache page listing " No results found" fiddling in this page I went to the filter icon at the bottom All filters max'd out there Sod's law kicks in !!! I hit the "Status" section on that page and the little faces! Three choices when you go to the next page Unattempted/DNF/Found.. The unattempted had a red " no entry" marker . Hit it for a green tick Backed out and the little faces were not 'greyed out', which I hadn't noticed backed out and the listing is there inc my GC's for south Africa!! The help desk and I learned something today!! It is strange that the filter had changed, for the worse, after a factory reset We will see what happens on test this week. Might take my 64S to SA as a backup! BFN Mike Quote Link to comment
robertlipe
Thank you for posting the solution. That helps others that may have this in the future. This is another case where Garmin could make such a tiny change in the user interface and not befuddle their users. "4321 Points filtered out." would have told you that the devices knew they were there and that the reason you saw zero was because the filters were inhibiting them. You might not have any idea what a filter is or why you accidentallyt urned them on[1], but you'd have been in a MUCH better position to diagnose it and solve it. [1] The touch screen on my 600 makes it easy to change crazy settings accidentally. The touch lock to prevent this is really annoying. Quote Link to comment
