2brnot2b
On my Garmin Etrex Legend CX sometimes there are little "D"'s on the bars on the satellite page. What do these mean? Do they have something to do with WAAS? Quote Link to comment
GreatCanadian
Yep. It indicates that the satellites are receiving WAAS corrections and these corrections are being sent to your GPS. If you disable WAAS on your GPS you won't see the D's. They may hang around for a couple of minutes but they'll disappear eventually. Edited August 17, 2007 by GreatCanadian Quote Link to comment
+Sputnik 57
By the way, the 'd' stands for "differential." This means you received a timing differential update on that specific satellite. The GPSRs typically only receive this update through a signal sent from the WAAS satellites. WAAS Satellites are any satellite you are receiving with a number of 33 or higher Edited August 17, 2007 by Sputnik 57 Quote Link to comment
