Lost geocaches upon becoming premium?

Recommended Posts

The intro app picks some nearby "beginner" caches at random. Now you're getting a better picture of all nearby caches. If you miss the old way, open the Intro app and enjoy! :anicute:

[edit] Did you already have the paid version of the app?

Premium membership and the paid app are different. You can use either without the other, but premium membership will not help you with anything on the intro app.

Though you will have advantages on both the website and the paid app if you are a PM, you don't need to be to use either. I say pay the $10 for the app, and use your premium membership. With the membership you can get emails for new caches, do pocket Queries, which allow you to search for and download masses of geocaches. You can search for caches based on anything-size, terrain rating, date placed, any or all of the attributes. You can exclude caches you have found. So for example you can search for caches you have not found that require a flashlight-that will give you night caches. Try it since you already have it.

Thanks for the info, TDM22, appreciate it. I'm going to get the paid app. I wonder why the premium option would be available on the intro app if it were not useful there? Anyways, thanks for the quick answer.

That is a cause of great confusion! There's a premium App and a Premium Membership to Geocaching.com. Two different things.

But the Intro App picks a few caches at random. That's why caches are gone. It may show different caches tomorrow. It's just a thing the Intro App does, but unrelated to membership.

You and everybody else here on the Forum. Many, many new cachers have been confused by this. We've been complaining about it for months.
