+Praxitiles
I have noticed that when I place a cache, certain people get an immediate notification of my placement, and they jet off to pick up a First To Find. I'm not crazy about this practice, as I'd rather my caches be found casually by whomever is out looking in the area, but my question here is, how are they getting these notifications? I've searched the entire site for several hours and can find nothing about this function. Thanks Quote Link to comment
+T.D.M.22
Geocaching.com/notify Instant notifications are a premium member feature. They include published caches, archived caches, update co-ords, and more, though people mostly use it for published caches. Just curious here, but why does it matter when they find your cache, or how they come to know about it? Edited August 2, 2015 by T.D.M.22 Quote Link to comment

+Mineral2
Don't want to be part of the FTF race? Put your caches far out on remote trails. A 4 mile hike that's an hour or more out of town will often keep those FTF hawks at bay. But eventually, it'll bring cachers out on a cool trail to some awesome location. Mountain summits are always fun. Quote Link to comment
+cerberus1
I kinda agree with mineral2. In our area, if it's less than a 2/2, it's found in minutes. When people put out simple, easy to find and get to hides, they get hit quick. Only caches with higher D/T (but mostly higher terrain) seem to sit a while before found here. I might be ftf three or more days later. Weird. Quote Link to comment
Pup Patrol
I've searched the entire site for several hours and can find nothing about this function. You can find your posts in the forum in two ways: 1.) In the upper right-hand corner, near your username, is a downward-facing arrow. Click on that, and then choose "my content". 2.) Go to your profile here: http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?id=1347341 Click on "see the forum posts for this user" B. Quote Link to comment
