+J Grouchy
The last few times I've taken my GPSr out caching, I've had this problem occur. I can pull up all the caches easily enough, but when I select a cache, the first problem I see is the screen is blank except for the bar at the bottom with 'Go!'. When I hit select, the device just locks up. None of the other buttons work and I just end up having to do a battery pull and restart. Has this happened to anyone else? I have checked for software updates, but Communicator says I have the latest version. Quote Link to comment
+MartyBartfast
Has this happened to anyone else? Yes it happened to me on my Etrex30. I hooked the Etrex up to my PC and deleted all the .gpx files on it, I also removed the OSM map I had on it. I then downloaded my PQs from GC.com and a new map from OSM, and put them back on and the problem went away; my conclusion was it was most probably a corrupt .gpx file, or less likely a corrupt map. If I was right, and you are experiencing the same problem then it's important to get the .gpx and map from the original source and not just copy them off your PC as the ones on your PC could have the corruption and reusing them will just reintroduce the problem. Thanks. I'll try this when I get home. Quote Link to comment
+Mcpat12
I had this happen also. Do a factory restore under settings. This will delete all the files on the GPSr so make sure you take anything off of it that you might want to keep. Also I would check and make sure that your GPS is updated to the newest updates.
