What type of cache should i list as

I'm in the middle of setting up a new cache and i'm unsure what type to list it as.

It has three different locations which each give a number to be used at the final in order to open a combination lock. I am not sure if this is classed as a multi or a puzzle.. :huh:

Any thoughts? thanks

Are the 'three different locations' individual caches you can log, or pre-existing signs (or physical containers that aren't actual caches) etc??

- if they are signs, I'd call it a multi.

- if they are caches, I'd call it an unknown (puzzle?) - but I have seen them called multis before....

and - are the coords of the final GZ known to the finder from the start?

- if so, I'd call it an unknown

- if not, I'd call it a multi.

Pretty confusing??

I've seen caches I thought should have been multis called unknowns, and vice versa, even seen unknowns/multis that should have been called trads.... just keep your directions very unambiguous....

Thanks guys, and yes confusing. :D

The three individual caches are not loggable - only the final.

The final GZ location will not be known from the start. Only the three previous caches locations will be known from the start.

Conclusion = Multi

If your expectation is that I could take the info on your cache page together with the listing coords, and start and finish the cache without outside assistance, that's a Multi-cache.

If at some point, I'm probably going to stop caching and start researching, or spending a large amount of time over some puzzle, that's a Mystery.

A multicache with the "field puzzle" attribute.
