Hobittual
I had never heard of Geocaching.com until on the 27/7/14 I found in a small car park on the B4407 near Ffestiniog N. Wales a geocach. I opened it, signed the little book with my email address and left a winning lottery scratch card. I was hoping after joining that I might see some feedback from the next person to find this geocach, unfortunately it is not listed at this position. What has happened here? I did not note the name of the creator other than xxxxxx1972 as I remember. Now what is to be done about this? Hobittual Quote Link to comment
+speakers-corner
The only Cache on that road is this one - Knights and Bandits (GC2X7D3). It is not directly on the road but on a side road. The Cache you found might not be listed here but listed on another site. Sorry that I cant help you further. Quote Link to comment

I thought it would be this one as the logo etc lead us to this one? Quote Link to comment
+T.D.M.22
Could be on another site (use google) it could be archive (the listing is roved. Out of play so to speak) but not physically removed. Could have been placed but not approved (all geocaches go through a review) Could be the final location to a puzzle, or multi. (Puzzle is just that. As easy as translating from French, to hard enlighten that it may go years before it's solved. Multi is where you go to the location and find another set of co-ords.) or it could be a letterbox(not a geocache but similar) or letter box hybrid(cross between a cache and letterbox) A letterbox, multi, or puzzle will not show the final location on the map, because it would defeat the purpose of those types. +The Blorenges
As the previous poster has explained, there are various reasons why the cache you found may have been put in place but then not listed on this site. Did it appear to be in good condition? Are you likely to be passing that way again so that you could get more details about it? MrsB Quote Link to comment
QUANDRAY
One possibility, and it's a long shot, is that it's GC3MYW6, which is owned by diggles1972, but has gone missing from it's correct location. Quote Link to comment
+Graculus
There are a couple of unpublished caches in that area which won't show up on the website. They are from a few years ago. It's possible you found the container of one of them. Here are the locations on Google maps. Does this match up with where you were? If not, can you find the place on Google maps? Right click the location and select "What's here" and copy the coordinates. Post them here and I can check again. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=52.9762333333,-3.84501666667&ll=52.9762333333,-3.84501666667&spn=20,20&t=k&z=15 http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=52.9848833333,-3.82075&ll=52.9848833333,-3.82075&spn=20,20&t=k&z=16 Chris Graculus Volunteer UK Reviewer for geocaching.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- UK Geocaching Wiki Geocaching.com Help Center UK Geocaching Information & Resources website Quote Link to comment

Coordinates would be a help. On the cache page, where it says A cache by diggles1972 clicking on the diggles1972 will bring up their profile and you can email the cache owner... However, they haven't logged in since August 2013. And. Your second log should really be a Note log, not a Found log, you can edit the log from the log itself. Could be listed on anther site. We do a few of our own on our local forum. It could be something like that? I don't know that area of the country though so cannot offer further help on this one. Also on some of the listing sites you can have movable caches, where someone finds it and re-hides it in another location for the next finders. Just another thing to bare in mind when some of these random unexplained finds that cannot be found on gc.com pop up. Quote Link to comment

This punctuates why it's so important to label the cache and logbook with GC code, cache name and contact information. Quote Link to comment
