Seeking 'AutumnTiger'

I am trying to get in contact with another player - AutumnTiger'.

She is still active (last visited Geocaching.com on 9th Octobner 2014), but despit sending two emails from the site I have had no response - maybe she has changed her email address and not update her geo account??

If any body does know her can they ask her to email me @ mr-n-mrstgeo@sky.com or via our user account "Mr'nMrst'

Thanks

I see she had an event the other day. You could try posting a note there too.

Although I would venture to say if she is active, she is likely getting notifications but it may be to an email she checks infrequently. Not everyone checks their email daily so be patient I would say.

Could be, if she's just held an event, she's getting emails about the attended logs, and yours is in there somewhere...

Hi Mrcanoehead224. Thanks for taking the time to reply and for spotting the event she has organised. I will try posting on there. It may prompt her to respond.

The emails I sent were actually in May & September (neither of which she has replied to), so unlikely to have been caught up in any correspondnce to her event.

Over a year later, mark your trackable as missing and move on.

Not necessarily.. I was looking through my list of trackables the other day and noticed that one had been held by a cacher for over two years. They were apparently still active so I sent a polite email via their account. I never had a reply but that travelbug was placed in a cache just a day or two later. Miracles still do happen

Insofar as it is not strictly 'missing' this is something I am reluctant to do. If the player who picked it up would have the courtesy to let me know it's fate, and tells me she lost it, then I will mark it as missing. If it had been somebody who had become inactive a long time ago then again I would mark it as missing. But this is a regular cacher who is just plain ignorant!

"Plain Ignorant" is a bit strong. Arguably, you could be "plain ignorant" of the very difficult situation she's had to deal with in the last 12 months.

But then again, reading some of the posts on this forum, Geocaching is life and death for many.

I've told her that she's been trolled* on the forum. She'll respond in her own time.

In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

The TB is safe and in my possession and will hopefully be dropped sometime soon.

Regards,

Hi AutumnTiger,

I see you picked up my TB (Prates Homecoming) back in September last year. Do you still have it or have you dropped it without logging?

Hope it's not due tpo bad health etc that you haven't managed to drop him yet.

Cheers

AutumTiger has indeed replied and as you can see from the extract above I did in fact originally show concern and hoped that her lack of action was not due to any health issues. As I received no reply to that em back in May, or a subsequent em in Septenber, and not being blessed with any mystic powers of deduction I felt I had no option but to try to contact her via the forum - or somebody on the forum who knew her. So I was not TROLLING as you infer - merely trying to make contact, and as you corectly point out - I was ingnorant of her situation, but not for a lack of asking - just from a lack of response.

Anyway we can now draw the line under the situation as I have been contacted and am assured that the TB is safe and well.

I have now responded. Those who know me personally know that it has been a tough year. I'm sorry these players have been left fretting over their TB, but sometimes real life (and death) gets in the way of play.

Thanks AT. I am truly sorry to hear of your personal problems, but was obviously unaware of them as you did not respond to my ems.

Hope the future bodes better for you.

Alan
