-KT-
Hello, Firstly, I'm new to Geocaching, but I learn fast. I've acquired a trackable. Its goal is to travel round Ireland, but it is current NW UK. I have emailed the TO to ask permission to post it to Ireland and have permission. So my request is to see if anyone is willing to give me a safe address I can post it to so it can enjoy Ireland....I'm so jealous! Thank you for reading. I would appreciate if anyone has a contact in Ireland if they could drop me an email or PM (if these forums do PMs). -KT- Quote Link to comment
Gitchee-Gummee
Understand that the idea of trackables are to travel, by geocachers carrying and placing same. If the Owner simply wanted to send it to Ireland, they could have done that instead of putting it into a cache themselves. If you are going to Ireland, take it with you. If not, put it into another cache. Sooner or later, it *should* get there. Quite possibly by the next person that picks it up after you place it. Quote Link to comment
-KT-
I was under the understanding they could be mailed with the TO's permission. I'll give it a few days and if no Irish Geocacher offers an address, I'll move it a bit closer to the west coast. Thank you for the advise. The Groundspeak guide says: 3.4. Mailing Trackables to Another Geocacher There may be occasions when you want to mail a Trackable to a geocacher in another location. Please do not mail any trackable without asking the owner first. Mail services to some places are erratic and/or unreliable. Typically, Trackables should travel from geocache to geocache, or directly from the hands of one geocacher to another. If you have received a Trackable in the mail, you will want to post a "grab it" logtype rather than "retrieve it" logtype, since you're not retrieving it directly from a geocache. The mileage traveled will show the next time you drop it in a geocache. Quote Link to comment
lugzmcpie
Not far from me is a 'travelbug hotel' cache near Leeds Bradford Airport. If you have a bug needing to travel you can place it there, and people tend to visit there before the airport if they're going on a flight. Perhaps you could find a similar cache, if one exists, nearby? Edited August 9, 2014 by lugzmcpie Quote Link to comment
sarahmcmur
I'm in Ireland and if you forward me the TB owners email giving you permission to post it, then you can post it to me Quote Link to comment
