+Pan314159
Hi all! I think the time has come for me to get my own geocoin made. I've been working on a design and I have someone who will make them for me. It's going to have a bunch of the horror/fantasy stuff that I like on it. There's one thing I'm having trouble deciding though. Do I make it a "personal geocoin / signature geocoin" (i.e. put my name on it), or just have it as a cool coin? I won't be selling them, so sale-ability isn't a factor. I'm leaning towards "yes", i.e. put my name on it, but I just can't decide so I thought I would ask some opinions. Who here has had a personal coin made? Did you actually put your name on it? Would you post here and show us what it looks like? Thanks for helping me decide! Pan Quote Link to comment
+jpbarr
I think if it purely a non-selling coin I would have your name on it. I personally love the personal coins that have the name over the cacher on them, I am hoping to do the same for myself next year Let us know when they are ready I would love to trade for one Quote Link to comment
+sweetlife
We had our personal Geocoin with our name on it. We never sold ours either we just traded them. I think you should it makes it more the personal then. Cannot wait to see your new geocoin inn the near future. +Pan314159
It'll be a while. Still on the design stage at the moment. It'ss le a couple of months, probably. Quote Link to comment
+kini_ont
I've placed my caching name on both of mine and I've sold a few (mostly to those who didn't feel they had anything to trade and I trade for just about anything ) That having been said if you want a personal geocoin then place your name on it or a signature mark that everyone knows you by. Can't wait to see and trade (I hope) for one. Quote Link to comment

+ElliPirelli
At the moment my own and first personal coin is being minted. I have both name and signature sign on it. Not planning to sell, only trade and a few will be presents, though. If it is purely to please yourself, than put your name on it. Lots of really special coins are personals with cachernick on them. +yanagi
We made personal coins and like you it was only for trading and gifting, so not only the names of us and the geonick is on the coin, even the shilhouettes of us are on the coin Quote Link to comment

+LadyBee4T
If you are thinking of the coin as a personal coin then I think you should put your name on it. In the future others will think of it also as a personal coin. I've made only one personal coin and it has my name and my avatar on it. It was a trade only coin and not sold and wasn't trackable either. That alone does say something about the age of it doesn't it! LOL Looking forward to seeing it! Quote Link to comment

Glad we got that cleared up .... ------------------- As others have said Pan - it's a personal. Not being created 'for sale'. Keep it personal ... yes, your name should be on it !! Can't wait to see it !!! Quote Link to comment

+drneal
the bottom coin (chiro-cache) was my first personal coin, and yes my name is on it...got the coins 1 week before geocoinfest in Pittsburg, PA. next coin up is Kathy's Coin...because of the personal nature of the coin, I didn't feel putting my name anywhere on the coin was appropriate next is Kathy's Coin Too...although my name is not on the coin, I am, standing beside Kathy...that's Logan jumping up to greet me, Heineken waiting his turn, Maxx tail wagging, and our first dog Brandy running to greet us first coin...Laura and I are certainly on the coin, as are our geonicks as for your coin, if your name or geonick suits the coin, I would like to see it on the coin. +mo pirate
Here is mine and my wife's personal coin. It shows hometown (leathermans symbol marks the spot!) in homestate with flag overprinted and our names and the sign that is at the end of our private road! It points to one of the most favorited caches in the state too!. It is a combination of glitter and glow. Quote Link to comment
+MtnMutt-ProDuckShins
My coin has my name and date when I began Geocaching. If you put in MtnMutt Geocoin in your web browser you will see lots of images.of it. Quote Link to comment
