Garmin GPSmap 62s route line style

Hi there,

I recently purchased a 62s. I put on OSM maps and found my first few caches with it.

I tried the routing and it worked surprisingly well, however, I have one gripe with it:

When I want to find a cache the 62s calculates a route. The route is displayed as a thick purple line, near my current position the route is shown using a thick white line with an arrow-head.

The problem is that those lines are covering all the roads and tracks to the cache, making it impossible to see what kind of track it is and often even obscuring road crossings and the likes. For me the route is more of a hindrance than a help. Is there a way to change the line style to something much more subtle or navigate to a cache without routing? The only workaround I found so far is to use direct routing, which at least lets me see the roads most of the time.
