aaceuk
Hi Found this wooden geocoin today. It has a code on it, "jbelu" - and the web address "geocaching.cz"... I've tried entering the code into the trackables page here on Geocaching.com but it isn't recognised... is this coin real? Or is it from some rival website and nothing to do with 'real' Geocaching? If it's genuine (it has real-looking logo on the reverse), can anyone tell me how to track/log it? It wasn't in the geocache's online inventory. Thanks Andy Quote Link to comment
+pastor_b
This is a non-trackable wooden token from the Czech Republic - generally personalized with a geo-nick Wooden tokens are very popular all throughout Europe Edited July 28, 2015 by Pastor_B Quote Link to comment
+nevadanick
Also called a signature item. The 'jbelu' is the caching name of a cacher in the Czech Republic. One site in the CZ sells a huge variety of wood coins, various woods - http://www.geocoin-land.com/ As Pastor B said, they are hugely popular in Europe. Quote Link to comment
+Murazor
Yup. There are commonly called XWG where X stands for country, e.g. CWG = Czech wooden geocoin, PWG = Polish wooden geocoin and so on. They are generally not trackable, however some of them are! But to be trackable they should bear the text "track at geocaching.com" somewhere as well as the code. For the non-trackable ones treat them as swag items of about half a dollar exchange value.
