France Parker
Does attending a Leap Day event count as a 'cache found' toward the 366 Days accomplishment? Quote Link to comment
+TriciaG
What 366 Days accomplishment? If the rules for that accomplishment (if there are rules) allow for event caches, then yes. If you're just talking about a 366-day streak, then yes. If it's some accomplishment set up somewhere else with a rule that the finds can only be physical caches, then no. Quote Link to comment
+Michaelcycle
Play it safe, find a physical cache and attend an event. If you find a challenge later that requires finding a physical cache on every day of the year (inc. 29Feb) then you won't have to wait until 2020. Good luck. Quote Link to comment
Pup Patrol
Does attending a Leap Day event count as a 'cache found' toward the 366 Days accomplishment? Not sure why you're concerned. You don't have a 366 day streak going at the moment. "Attended" logs are counted in your "finds" stats. Look at my profile to see that events are counted as "finds". B. Quote Link to comment
France Parker
["Attended" logs are counted in your "finds" stats.] Thanks Pup! That is the answer I was seeking. I had heard something about finding a cache on every day of the year, including Leap Day, but didn't know any details. I have since found that there are caches with a 366 Day Challenge. You have to have logs for all 366 days of the year before being allowed to log the Challenge cache. I am not even close to having all 366, but I plan to get one on Feb 29 so I don't have to wait 4 years for another chance at it. Quote Link to comment

The "366 Day" challenges that I have seen required one to find a cache each day of the year, in a row, therefore a "streak". But I have read 2 challenges in Indiana that aren't like that at all. In fact, there is a "February 29th" challenge that only requires logging ONE cache or event on February 29th. Good luck and have fun. Hope the weather plays nice for that day. B. The 365/366 challenges are typically based on filling the "Finds for Each Day of the Year" calendar in your Profile's statistics page. That calendar will 'block out' a date for all finds and attended events. Looking at that section of your profile is how the Challenge Cache CO's can verify that you qualify for their challenge, which is probably why most of them don't limit the challenges to physical caches only. Of course, there may be some challenges that are more specific and require only certain cache type. But if the CO is verifying your qualification simply with your Profile's Statistics page, then they must be allowing all cache types. ETA: Keep in mind, not all challenges allow events. There are many challenges that allow only physical finds (Traditional, Multi, Mystery). They should probably allow Wherigos as well, but many of the challenges specify that only Trad/Multi/Mystery are allowed. As you explore other Challenge Caches, you may see the cache type restrictions listed. Edited February 5, 2016 by noncentric Quote Link to comment
