Cache Filtering

You could start with a pq of the area using the hiking attributes but not everybody puts in the appropriate ones. A wider start would be to download the nearest 2000 caches to the area and map them. Look for strings of caches outside of residential area. They will usually show up quite easily. If you dump the pq in as program such as gsak you could also look for similiar names like a string of movie titiles, or Great Trail #1 throu whatever. I travel six months a year and use this every where I go. Using GSAK also allows you to pick out the high D/T ones for more of a challenge.

Easiest way to find woodsy areas and hiking trails is by using the map view. It will show the parks and forest preserve areas and things like bike trails will stand out, too.

Once you see an area of interest you can generate a pocket query to grab everything in that area.

Thanks all for the replies. It is as I thought. I logged on to a bushwalking forum, found some hikes and then overlayed the maps to find caches.

I was hoping that there was an easier way but I think have it sorted now.

Cheers
