+TwoEyeJay
When signing logs in found caches, is it general practice to use your geocaching username, or your actual name. This might sound like a funny question, but I have seen what appears to be both on a log or two, though I'm new and have only found 6 so far. Quote Link to comment
+Walts Hunting
Your geocaching name. If the CO checks for logs that is what he knows. You will be surprised over time how many people you will only know by their caching title Quote Link to comment

+niraD
As Walts Hunting indicated, people generally sign their geocaching name, rather than their real name. Of course, some people use their real names as their geocaching names, or they use names that look like real names as their geocaching names. And newbies sometimes sign the log with their real names before they get geocaching.com accounts. And when space is limited (e.g., on very small log sheets for very small cache containers), many people sign with a shortened form of their geocaching names (e.g., "WOW" instead of "workerofwood", or "OAP" instead of "oneangrypuppy"), or with a single team name that represents everyone in the group (e.g., "Karl's Krew" or "GBA Kayakers" or "GBA ECR"). +popokiiti
We use our caching names, or an abbreviation of them if the log is small. If it is a really tiny log, we'll use "TP" for Team Popoki. Have never used our real names. I go from my full name to P.Iti, to PI and then to the toilet paper, I mean TP Quote Link to comment
+WarNinjas
I would think like others have said that the names you are seeing is probably members who use there name as there caching name or a name that looks like someones name. Unless it is someone new. Go with your geocaching name to keep it simple IMO anyways. Quote Link to comment
