Hi guys, I have been enjoying geocaching for a while now. I am thinking of becoming a premium member. I understand that I pay $30 and I can be a premium member for a year. I was just wondering when I find premium caches will they go into my finds list with all my basic member finds?

If next year I decide that I don't want to renew my premium membership and I go back to being a basic member will I still have and be able to view the premium caches that I found in my finds list?

Regard

Hello,

The answer is quite simple: yes.

After you have found the cache, it is found. It will remain on the list of you found caches as well as it will remain part of the ammount of geocaches you have found.

Regarding the second topic: If you decide that you don't want to renew your premium membership, you will still be able to view the premium caches on your found list. However, if you open the listing for one of those premium caches, it will not give you the details of the geocache, such as the coordinates, just like if you were a basic member seeking a premium cache that you had never found.

If you'd like to know anything else don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks for your prompt reply. If I don't renew my membership like you said the premium cache will remain in my found list but I will not be able to see details of it, will I be able to view my log on the premium cache if I am no longer a premium member? And how long should it take to update my account to premium after I have paid with paypal on Geocaching.com??

Thanks again

Yes, all your logs will remain visible to you. Also, when you are a Premium Member, you can download a MyFinds query, this will include the entire cache description and all of your logs of all caches found, including archived.

You'd always be able to view that in whatever software you might use to open GPX files.

Re speed, I'm afraid i don't know. I'd be surprised it if took more than 24 hours, and I'd expect less.
