Sending cache info to my GPS

Hello, I have a Garmin Etrex Venture HC. Using my DESKTOP computer, running Windows XP, I am able to send cache info to my GPS unit from the website using the "SEND TO MY GPS" button, works fine every time.

My problem occurs when I try this from my LAPTOP running Windows 7. According to the Garmin Website I have the latest and most up to date Communicator plugin, it also recognizes my GPS unit, but every time I try to send cache info using "SEND TO MY GPS" geocaching.com gives me an error that says "Garmin Communicator Plugin NOT detected. Download and install now"

I am using the same USB cable to plug into both computers so its not a cable issue. Am I missing something here? Do I need to reconfigure something in Windows 7?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Let me take a guess... Using Internet Explorer?

If you are experiencing difficulties using the Send to GPS plugin, please take the following steps. If you are experiencing other issues in the IE 11 browser, this may be helpful to you as well.

 

We have identified some compatibility issues between Internet Explorer and Geocaching.com. We are working to address these, but in the meantime you can take some steps to ensure that you have the optimal view of our site through IE.

 

Go to your Tools menu.

 

Click "Compatibility View Settings" and insert geocaching.com under "Add this Website:".

 

Click "Add"

 

Click "Close".

 

Alternatively, you can access Geocaching.com through a different browser, such as Firefox or Chrome.

Good advice Bear and Ragged. Another option is to use Chrome. I've never had a problem.

It appears to be a compatibility issue with Internet Explorer.
