+YetiRN
I am in need of lots of help with my Garmin Monterra. Nearly all YouTube videos pertaining to the Monterra are in a foreign language. I need tips and tricks for increasing battery-life (what functions I can stop while i'm geocaching), best way to load GPX files from a MAC......and the list goes on! Quote Link to comment

+StefandD
The best way to increase battery life is: don't install applications which run on the background. Turn off WiFi, NFC and Bluetooth. Set the backlight on a low level (10% is enough, more can even be annoying during night caches). Turn the screen off when you're not looking at it (short press on the power button). Bring extra batteries, the Monterra can also run on 3 AA batteries. Just copy/save the GPX file to the map <internal storage>\Garmin\GPX\ . Quote Link to comment

Thanks, I've read through all of that forum and didn't find many "current" answers. Quote Link to comment

Thanks for the response...I may need to test my original battery's capacity with a voltmeter. Quote Link to comment
