Hi All,

 

I bought the geocache app for iPhone I think it was $15.00 for 3 months.

 

I want to upgrade to premium membership. The premium iPhone app membership is about $50 but on desktop site premium membership is about $30.

 

If I buy the desktop membership will I get premium benefits on the app?

If you bought something off the app for 3 months, it's a membership. So you would currently have a premium membership (which, after checking your profile, you are indeed a premium member)

 

So you'll get nothing that you don't currently have, you'll only extend your membership to one year and 3 months total.

 

The membership on the app and the website is all the exact same thing. The website is listed at $30 USD. It will be different wherever you're from depending on the current exchange rate and any taxes required. It's just that the app stores add that and show what your paying. The website however charges in USD so it's your credit card that would put the exchange rate on your bill. For example I'm Canadian so I would pay $30USD but when I get my credit card bill, I'll be charged $40 CAD. Which is the same (I suspect) as I would pay if I got it through the app store.

And yes the premium membership is on the website, and one of the benifits is mire functionality in the app.

Just to be clear, what you bought was a Premium Membership. The app (assuming you downloaded it after March 24th) would have been free, since the paid version was no longer available by then.

Premium Membership is $30 USD, which Google says converts to $40 AUD. Personally, I would feel more comfortable buying Premium Membership through the website, rather than going through an app. Just seems less likely to have any issues buying directly from geocaching.com

Yes - if you buy a Premium Membership, then you will get premium benefits on the app using that same account. Just make sure that you are using the same username/password when logging into the app as when you log into the website.
