It is not possible to have a larger than 4 GB file on a disk with FAT32 file system. Garmin GPS units use FAT32.

 

True.

 

Also, you cannot use a 64GB disk as there is also a 32GB limitation. If you Goggle FAT32 you can learn a lot more about this topic.

 

Theoretically, yes, but in reality, no. I have 64GB and 128GB uSD cards formatted FAT32.

I'm not sure if the GPS will recognize it though.

 

It does :-)

 

To be more clear, it may use the card, but may not be able to use the complete space. This has been shown to be true with previous units.

 

There is probably no way to tell as it would be very hard to add on more than 32 GB of data without exceeding one of the unit's limits.
