+twostrokeking22
I just bought a Garmin Etrex 10 and so far it seems like a nice unit. However I'm so confused on how to use it. I've got most of it down but the compass part doesn't make sense. For instance, when I go to navigate to the geocache, what is the line at the top of the compass ? And does the compass point me where I need to go or where I'm heading. Am i supposed to match the compass point to the line ? Sorry I know it's dumb but I have no experience with this Quote Link to comment
+MartyBartfast
The line at the top represents the direction you're travelling, so you should hold the GPS in front of you with the line pointing straight ahead, and then the big arrow shows you which direction the cache is in, so if you are walking straight towards the cache then the arrow and line will be aligned, if the cache is to your left then the arrow will be pointing to the left, etc. Quote Link to comment
