kminator
Hello everybody. I'm in need of help. A couple of months ago I bought a Lowrance Endura Out&Back online. I didn't read a lot about it before, which was probably a huge mistake. I have spent countless hours on google trying to figure out how I could get Open Street Maps (.osm) on the device. Can anybody please give me a answer on this, is it possible? If so, how? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
alandb
I have a Lowrance Endura Sierra. AFAIK, it is not possible to put OSM maps on it Quote Link to comment
kminator
Thank you for the answer. Do you know if there is any other free maps to put on it? Quote Link to comment
alandb
Don't think so. Lowrance has more or less abandoned this model series. My Sierra does have on board USA street maps. The map is not routable, but at least it shows your location on a street map. I am not sure if there would be any way to install the map data from a Sierra on your Out&Back. I am guessing it is locked to the specific device SN. My advice .... cut your loses and buy a Garmin, where you can use OSM maps. Edited June 18, 2015 by alandb Quote Link to comment
+Viajero Perdido
My advice .... cut your loses and buy a Garmin, where you can use OSM maps. ...or an Android phone, where I can think of at least 3 quality apps (Locus, Orux, OsmAnd) that each offer a variety of OSM flavors. (I use Locus, which is both mind-bogglingly full-featured, and a pretty fine caching app at the same time.) Quote Link to comment
