+4 Nouwens
Hi All, My wife and I cache on both my IPhone 6 and Garmin GPSMAP 62ST and i can not for the life of me figure out how to make the GPS as accurate as the phone. Please help me to understand how to set the GPS properly. Thanks, Garry Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
If your "accuracy" is always off when compared to the phone, you really ought to read this: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=328711&view=findpost&p=5458918 , post #3 and later. I remember that as being a solution for a 550t and a 600t. It is somewhat tricky as the manual is not real clear on that setting. There are TWO settings adjustments. Just setting one of them is not enough. Quote Link to comment
+4 Nouwens
Thank you for the reply and advice. When we went out today i had turned "lock on road" off and switched to "hiking", is there a difference? I'm determined to make this work as we like to cache where the phone doesn't work and the battery life is better on the GPS than on the phone too. +Gitchee-Gummee
It is my understanding that Hiking is not the proper choice. According to the link below, Direct Routing is the proper choice. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=326524&view=findpost&p=5434612 , post #11, the link should go right directly to that post. This thread is not a cell phone vs. stand-alone debate. It is a thread about adjustable settings and route functions of a GPSr device. If you have some positive input to the question posed, it is welcome. It may help if you were to read the opening post/question, rather than to [try and] pick apart singular posts in a thread. That is trolling, at best. Edited April 16, 2015 by Gitchee-Gummee Quote Link to comment
