ChibiTree
If you want to visit a cache you've already visited, is that allowed? And do you have to sign the logbook again if you do visit it again ? Thx, ChibiTree Quote Link to comment
+lee737
Visit as often as you want.... you don't *have* to sign the log each time, I doubt anyone would worry if you did though - you can only log a visit online once though...... Quote Link to comment

Actually you should only log a find only once, you could do it more than once. Of course you're only cheating yourself... Quote Link to comment
+niraD
I've revisited a few caches. I generally sign the physical log again, but I log an online Find only the first time I find it. I log later revisits online with a Note. Quote Link to comment

Incorrect. You can find and log as found any cache as many times add you want. Generally people go back for track ables and use a note. Quote Link to comment

There are many legitimate reasons to visit a cache again....maybe it's a good spot to drop off a trackable, or maybe it's a really cool cache you want to bring a friend to see, or maybe you're out caching with a group of other cachers and visit a cache you've previously done solo. In any case, while the system will allow you to log a Find again, it makes more sense to just log a Note. Quote Link to comment

The site allows a person to log find more than once on a single cache. Many "traveling" caches were set up so that they can be logged more than one time without too much fear of someone calling the extra find logs cheesy. I really can't think of any other time when you would want to log an additional find on a cache. One of my favorite caches is one that requires around a 9 mile hike. Logged found on it about 10 years ago but have been back to hike it 5 or 6 times since. I've always logged notes online on those subsequent adventures. I never thought about signing the physical log on the additional visits but i don't suppose that matters much to anyone... Quote Link to comment

You could visit a cache and sign the log and then log found it online every day for say 300 days which would = 300 finds. You've signed the log book each time so the CO can't delete your log and Groundspeak won't because its perfectly legal to do this although I doubt anyone would want to do this. I've had numerous multiple finds on some of my caches...doesn't bother me. Quote Link to comment

On these re-visits I sign the log, to say I've dropped/retrieved a trackable, and post a Note log online. If I'm passing a cache, and it's not been visited for a while, I'll post a Note log online, just to let the CO know (and anyone reading the logs) that all's well with the cache. (Or post a Needs Maintenance, if things are not OK) Edited August 8, 2015 by Bear and Ragged Quote Link to comment

For one thing, it's safer to take a group of new geocachers to a cache that I've found already, both from the perspective that I know what the cache and its contents are like, and from the perspective that I know where/how it's hidden and can offer hints if needed.
