Does a trackable need to be put back in a motel/hotel?

I am traveling and want to move the trackable I found today, but didn't know if I had to put in motel/hotel or if I could put in any cache?

Any cache which the TB can reasonable fit into will do... but best to choose one that helps the TB met its published goal.

Thank you. I found a good cache that is in a high traffic/muggle area so I didn't want it to get lost/in the wrong hands, but it definitely has a very good chance to meet the published goal. That was helpful!

Trackable hotel/motels is simply what a CO chooses to call it.

Any cache could be called one.

Since the trackable you found has no goal other than "explore all over!", any cache you find that'll fit will do.

If a cache meets the trackable's goal, but is otherwise undesirable (leaky container, likely to get muggled, small container, etc.), then you can have the trackable visit the cache instead of dropping it in the cache.

 

I did that with a trackable a while ago. It had a mission to visit playgrounds, but most caches near playgrounds are too small for trackables. So I had it visit a lot of caches near playgrounds, and posted photos of it near the playgrounds, but I kept it moving because I couldn't actually put it in any of the caches near playgrounds. (Eventually I took it to an event, and someone else took it and kept it moving.)
