Help Lola find her way home!

Hello my name is Lola!

I have found myself lost in Oxford, and need to get back to my home in Somerset and I would appreciate your help!

My farm is situated in the Bridgwater area, so if I could end up in a geocache there then my farmer can come and pick me up!

If you will be travelling that way and can help me on my journey I would be very grateful!

Please keep my farmer updated concerning my whereabouts on this forum otherwise he will be very worried.

Thank you!

Hi there, I see you have Lola as your profile picture. Unless Lola has a trackable id on her then anybody visiting the cache where she is will just think she is swag and as others have said she will just be taken as a toy.

Not many people from the UK visit these forums so it is unlikely that many UK cachers will see this post.

Sorry I'm new to this, only just made the account today!

No this is not a trackable, just something I decided to try to see if by some off chance it will work!

If it doesn't work there's no great loss. Thank you for the advice though! :)

If Lola doesn't have any tracking number, does she at least have some sort of "mission note" attached to her so that cachers will know which way she's heading?

In the past we've managed to have a couple of postcards delivered (within UK) by "cache mail" - They didn't have TB numbers, just the recipient's geocaching name and the town/geocache to which they were travelling.

Hi!

We are a family team of geocachers from France, on a holiday in England for 10 days.

Today we went to the Story Museum in Oxford (they have a fabulous photo exhibition about children's books characters impersonated by famous authors, each in a differently themed room, it's brilliant!).

After the museum we decided to go geocaching a bit and walked to the Botanic Gardens where we saw there was a cache... We chose that one because it is almost opposite to a very good sweets shop we wanted to visit!

In the cache we found Lola. First we thought it was just swag. Then we saw she had something attached and thought it was a trackable. Then we saw she had no number but we read the note and realised she had a mission of her own... So we took her with us.

We gave her a taste of a giant lollipop, she loved it.

Now we're taking her with us to Witney. Okay, it's only about 15 miles in the right direction... but we figured cows can't travel too fast anyway, and besides, all the fun is in the journey ! :)

Okay, here we are back in Witney and we dropped Lola off in a cache called Witney Wander. It's a Multi so she may sit here a while, but at least the people who will find her are probably the type of geocachers who will take good care of her (mostly families with children or people enjoying a long stroll through an historic city - wouldn't those people enjoy helping a cow on her journey?.

So, bye-bye and good luck Lola on the rest of your way home... ;-)

It's really nice to read about this non-trackable traveller travelling well. But Dave's Piglings, you're taking to the Halloween Mega! Have you not seen the movie The Little Vampire!? :o I fear for this little cows safety...

Look after that little cow, don't let it get bitten.
