GPSmap 64s easiest way to go to created waypoint

When doing a multi, you sometimes need to go to newly calculated coordinates. In my knowledge, there are 2 ways of doing it, and both have there drawbacks.

1.

In the map select "mark", fill in all the details and coordinates and press ok, then go to waypoints and select the created waypoint and select go.

This works ok, but it would be much shorter if creating the waypoint would also give the oppertunity to directly go to it.

2.

The other option is to select find, and then select coordinates, fill in the coodinates and you go...Seems pretty fast, but the big problem is, when you leave this point as a destination (for example when looking into the geocache information), you losse your coordinates....

Is there an easier way I'm missing, or is this just one of the ways Garmin works??

If the 64s is similar in functions as my 62s, when you find the 1st stage press Menu and select View Geocache. There is the option to select Enter Next Stage.

Correct, that option is indeed available on the 64s, but as with the coordinates-option, if you leave for whatever reason the geocache, you lose your waypoint. Sometimes you come closeby a traditional and want to make a sidestep to it, you then lose the coordinates you filled in as a next stage, or when you want to go back to a stage in your multi, maybe because of a mistake.

The best way in my opinion is the option to create and go to a waypoint in 1 step. Like the MOB (Man OverBoard) function. When holding the FIND button for 2 seconds, you create a waypoint of your current location and directly start navigating to it. For geocaching this is pretty useless (navigation to your current location :-)), but it would be nice if you could alter the coordinates within the MOB function. This would be an extra keypress, and for being an emergency function this is not wanted, but a combination of creating a waypoint and directly navigating to it like the MOB-function, would be nice.

Yes, I follow you. I do create a new waypoint(s) for the next stage(s) and use Waypoint Manager to edit the coords and name. I like to keep a record for future reference. To your point of losing the "Enter Next Stage" data I always hoped Garmin would save each additional stage as a new waypoint. I emailed this suggestion to tech support and marketing some time ago. Perhaps if enough users do the same they will add that?
