Chrysalides
Nice. Where are you going to hide it? Meaning, what kind of surrounding. Quote Link to comment
wimseyguy
How does it balance on the grass without falling over? Quote Link to comment
kywaterfowler
How does it balance on the grass without falling over? There is a stake in the ground. I plan on putting a stake in the ground and then pushing it down in the ground a little. Quote Link to comment
kywaterfowler
Nice. Where are you going to hide it? Meaning, what kind of surrounding. I actually know a few firemen at one of our local fire departments and I am going to try to hide it beside or behind the fire department if I get permission. If not I might hide it back in the woods real far behind a tree to where it won't be seen from the local trails. Quote Link to comment
Chrysalides
Good luck with the permission. Either fire station or out in the woods sounds like a fun hide. Quote Link to comment
roziecakes
I love HeadHardHat's videos. I've been wanting to try the one with the faucet handle for a long time. You did a great job! Quote Link to comment

Kryten
"How does it balance on the grass without falling over?" Serious question In what way is a stake shoved into the ground not a "pointy object" as forbidden by the cache placement guidelines? Quote Link to comment
brslk
Just use a stake with a rounded end and push it into soft ground. No pointy object used. Problem solved. Pushing a stake into the ground does not cause any damage. It simply displaces the soil, not remove it. No digging involved. The guideline in question is "Caches that are buried. If a shovel, trowel or other "pointy" object is used to dig, whether in order to hide or to find the cache, then it is not appropriate." He is not going to "dig" anything to hide it and no one is going to "dig" to find it. Edited June 18, 2010 by brslk Quote Link to comment

kywaterfowler
I am also thinking about taking my dremel tool and beveling the end of the pipe so along with the stake that has been attached with 2 screws I will be able to push the pipe itself down in the ground a little for more stability.
