+terratin
As there's currently no Wherigo at all where I live I'd like to place one myself. For a start I thought about something that sounds easy, though I don't know if it is: go to start coordinates and walk/drive in a random direction. Press a button and the cartridge will give the distance to the cache without the direction. Rinse and repeat. Is this easy to do? And is it possible to get this running on iPhone/Android/handheld gps all at the same time? Which builder might be the easiest for a beginner to build this little project? Thanks a lot, Mrs. terratin Quote Link to comment

Thanks a lot, Mrs. terratin check the Reverse geocache . To make one you have to visit one to get the code for the editor. I have 3 running but there are a lot in US. You start the cartridge and get the range than move and get a new distance, then you have two options move in one direction and try again. You have 50 attempt but it should do with below 10 to find the cache j-annie Quote Link to comment

Might be fun to do with a big, empty desert with some minor outcrops, salt flats and canyons to dodge as a playing area. The question is: how do I start programming this once I have a hiding spot? Is it difficult and will it run on all devices? There are only about 10-15 cachers around here and I want to give them a chance to finish this cache, regardless of the devise they use. +Memfis Mafia
This is a unique idea. I have built several Wherigos but none like this. I will play around with this idea as well. I am curious to see how you progress. Quote Link to comment
+Delta68
Here's the original Reverse Geocache Wherigo http://coord.info/GC357G1 by -Waldmeister- Completing the Wherigo enables you to set one of your own. I actually created a 'family tree' of Reverse Geocache Wherigos showing which cache a player found in order to set their own and there are a few instances where the setter doesn't appear to have found one prior to setting one so it looks as though the codes might get handed around bit M Quote Link to comment
+terratin
Ah, that's interesting! I'll give this a look. At least it might give me the opportunity to look at some actual code - if I don't need to be in Germany in order to finish this cartridge that is... No coding required. It's just a reusable cartridge. I did actually write one like this myself a few years ago but never published it. I had a look for the source file this morning but bits of it are missing so I'd have to start from scratch again. M Quote Link to comment

+terratin
Thanks a lot! I'll just place a cache and try to build such cartridge. If it doesn't work I might publish it as traditional, but we'll see... never got past HTML, and never learned programming... Quote Link to comment
