Magellan Explotist 510 problems

I moved from Michigan to Omaha, Nebraska and the device is still trying to give me Michigan catches.

 

1. Where and how do I establish the Magellan to my current location? Do I need to change the DATUM choice and if so to what?

 

2. I installed the communicator but every time I click on send to GPS, the program install pops up again like it has not installed or not recognized?

 

3. When I plug the Magellan to the pc the computer wants to know what to do with the external storage card.

 

4. This should be simple to plug the GPS in to the computer and hit send to GPS, but it is not working >_<

 

5. Can anyone in here help me?

Question #1) One or two things...

 

Through the Main menu, you may well be able to set your area -- not specific location, but area. Adjusting the differential to Greenwich Time may also be necessary.

 

Next, you will probably need to boot up your unit and leave it sit outdoors with a clear view of the sky for quite a while. It may take upwards of a half-hour, sometimes even longer. Use FRESH batteries. It needs to reconfigure the satellite constellation for your location... anytime that you travel a long distance since last having it activated. Before doing that however, check to see if you can set the general location as per above.

 

Regarding the computer problems (#2), it helps to know what you are using, PC or MAC? Also what browser?

 

#3 -- Dunno what you mean "computer wants to know what to do...".

Is it asking if you want to access the card? That question usually comes from the device, not the computer.

 

#4 This is probably related to #2.
