+skramble
Anybody have any insight as to why http://img.geocaching.com/stats/tb.aspx?guid=xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx no longer functions as expected? Quote Link to comment
knowschad
What were you doing to get that error? Server Error in '/stats' Application. Runtime Error Quote Link to comment
+palmetto
It seems to be working fine to me. If you use an actual guid, instead of a bunch of xxxx Here's one for a TB of the original poster http://img.geocaching.com/stats/tb.aspx?guid=4b5d274d-6648-4ee8-bb88-92b4921bf35a Quote Link to comment

I see a generic TB icon above the stats of the one you posted, do you actually see the TB's real image? Just tried 3 browsers, 3 OSs, two computers and an Android... same thing. I'm not having any problems on 3 computers and an iPhone No, it still isn't working, and the shot that Palmetto pasted in showed the generic image, which is my whole issue. It does not show the correct image for that TB. To clarify further: At http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.printer.friendly&id=10, section 2.2 list item 3. displays what you should see at http://img.geocaching.com/stats/tb.aspx?guid=96d16114-bebf-4d5d-a75f-6fbea5c0fab4 as being: what I actually see when I hit that link is See my point? Which one do you see? If you see the correct image, something =very= strange is going on at my ISP. Quote Link to comment

Maybe we need to change the image address to something new. Quote Link to comment
Andronicus
I see they have changed the method for selecting the trackables default picture. You used to selected by editing the picture you wanted, and checking the "Make this Picture Default" box. Now there is a drop down selection on the travel bug's edit page. Quote Link to comment

Are you thinking that something (perhaps the GUID or other ID to the default picture) isn't getting set right? All of my TBs that I checked on look good, but I haven't set up or changed the default picture on any of them. Quote Link to comment

Actually, it doesn't work for yours either... for e.g., going to http://img.geocaching.com/stats/tb.aspx?guid=9e9eaa6e-cfda-4652-b146-ab36b418a266 shows me: (the generic bug again, instead of that nice patchy eye image you have set for its default image) It's the image in the "stats" link, not the TB's page, that's broken. Thanks, but I've tried toggling the "Bug Image" dropdown to no avail. Quote Link to comment

+palmetto
I think you ought to pm a moderator, and ask them to move this to the Website section of the forums, which is where a Lackey would see it as a bug report. I'd ask the moderator if it's possible to edit the title to -> "[bug] TB Stats Image Replaced by Generic, see post #6" Post #6 clarifies the issue. There it becomes apparent what you were expecting, and what is actually happening. At some point, images on Geocaching.com were ported to a new address. All or many now have "cloudfront.net" in the URL. At the time this happened there were reports of assorted images bugs, I seem to recall it killed the use of moving Gif images. I expect this is the basis of this problem. If it's not going to be fixed, then the Help Center needs to have that article removed. Or, if there's still a way to do it, the article needs to be updated. Quote Link to comment
