+Team Eccentric
It appears to me I am the only surviving person without a smart phone. But I do have a Samsung GalaxyTab 3 that I use for a lot of things. When I downloaded the Geocaching Intro app on my tablet, there is no menu that pops up when I press my menu button the the tablet. I can find whatever Geocache is visible in the map, but I cannot get to any menu to switch to a compass or download pocket queries, etc. Does this app work with tablets, or no? Quote Link to comment
+steben6
If your tablet has internet access, why don't you just open the GS webpage and go from there. I am NOT a techy kind of person, but the website works great on our Motorola Zoom tablet. The app works great on our Evo 4G htc smart phone - we can see nearby caches and navigate to them on the phone as well as seeing logs, etc. I know that is probably no help to you whatsoever; sorry...I was just trying to say that the app works on our tablet and smartphone both, even though we don't use it as much on the tablet as we do just logging into the site. +T.D.M.22
Two things here. First if you use the webpage, there's no way to navigate to the cache. There's driving directions from your home locations, but that's it. Second in order to fully work, you would need a GPS chip in the tablet. Smartphones have them built in, so that's why they work. You may be able to use location based on cell reception if you have a sim card in it, but if there little reception, your SOL. And another thought- I use iphone. It's a touch screen, isn't the Galaxy a touchscreen as well? Quote Link to comment

What happens if you tap on the cache shown on the map? Quote Link to comment

It should work fine on tablets. The intro app doesn't actually have any items in the menu, so I expect nothing will show up. Tapping on caches on the map should give you everything you need. Pocket queries aren't supported in the free Intro App (yet!), but the compass is accessible once you start navigating to a Geocache. Quote Link to comment
