Converting GPX files

Recommended Posts

I am actually using Open Office so in fact they use .ods files but can read .xls files

If I try to open a .gpx file with open office caculator, it converts it to a word doc and wont read in in Caculator (excel)

I tried renaming it to .xml and dropping into Calc and unfortunately that didn't work (worked with Excel...) I think you're best bet it to use GSAK.

One option would possibly be using http://gpsvisualizer.com to convert the GPX to plain text, then open (or copy) that into Calc. You may have to use the "Text to Columns" feature to get the columns to work out.

I have one of my laptops that has OpenOffice also and I can open csv and xls files without any problems.
