Good day everyone!

I am currently seeking individuals who would be interested in joining the Queens Borrowers Second Annual Travel Bug Race, The Great Canadian Travel Bug Race 2009-2010

After our first race, which can be found at http://queensborrowers.wordpress.com , we have decided to continue the tradition with a second race.

All are welcome to join, even if you are not from Canada. Although the race is in Canada, you don't have to be.

Here is the rundown on the upcoming race.

Basic Rules:

1. TB’s can only move one province at a time, provinces must share a common geographic border.

- And what happens if one skips a province? They must return to the previous province before continuing to the next province...

2. Anyone MAY move any TB in the race. Owners are encouraged to request help from other cachers along the way in order to move their bugs faster, rather than attempting to slow down others.

3. First TB to reach the end cache, by stopping in each province, wins.

Rules are simple:

1. Start with a NEW unused TB tag.

2. Attach it to any WHEELED vehicle that you wish. (It MUST HAVE WHEELS TO ENTER).

They will start from the West Coast, head East to Newfoundland, then return to the West to BC.

Hopefully clearing all provinces!

We will set up different stats...

Overall Racers

United States Racers

Australia Racers... etc.

We are having a similar race here in South Africa.

Last year we had 16 entrants and this year a whopping 47.

The race page can be seen at www.sageostats.co.za/tbrace

We are now two weeks into the race.

If you want to keep score in a similar fashion as what we doing PM me (email address is in my profile). I will gladly give all PHP code under creative commons licence (do with it what you want, but share it again).

I know it's probably too obvious but....

By stopping in each province means "checking-in/out" at a cache in each of the 10 provinces / 3 territories in our big wide country - correct?

If there is no cache nearby (unless I started and seeded a cache), would a photo of a landmark with the TB in it be suffice?

After a promising start to the race, it looks like Micro Stig may be MIA based on the last log entry for the cache it was in:

A very innovative cache for sure! I enjoyed this one, except it needs some serious TLC. Seems that someone had thoroughly gone through the cache; not much left inside - not even a log book. Found a geocoin (TB1H1YE) floating around loose inside so grabbed it and moved it along to another geocache; no sign of any of the other TB's listed. TFTH!

That's too bad. Maybe it will turn up in a while, so I won't mark it missing yet. Fingers crossed!
