+sloth96
Hello, I just created a pocket query that is not correctly returning caches. It is supposed to be a filter that returns all caches in the world that have the "not a partnership" cache attribute set. The filter returns caches without the attribute. To generate, using chrome on windows 7, create a new query, within the States/Provinces box, I did a Ctrl-A to select all the States/provinces. Then under attributes to include make sure the handshake has the red slash through it. Then submit information. It returns 4 caches, gcqqtd, gc1gfcp, gc282ge, and gc3994f. Of these on gc282ge has the attribute set. I could not create a similar PQ using IE or mozilla as the Ctrl-A trick did not work the same. For those with more insight, this PQ is called QueryPartnershipIssue on my list of pocket queries. Hopefully this helps. Sloth96 Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
You can share a PQ query (not result) I believe - just provide the URL to that PQ. The URL will look something like : http://www.geocaching.com/pocket/gcquery.aspx?guid=xxxxxxxxx where xxxxxxxxx is the GUID. Might make it easier to troubleshoot. Quote Link to comment
+MartyBartfast
For what it's worth I created the same PQ and got the same results as you, something's not right and the PQ doesn't seem to be returning the right results based on the criteria - strange. Quote Link to comment
+sloth96
@Chrysalides I am not sure that posting that link will not allow someone to mess with my PQ's. I am deferring it for now. @MartyBartfast, Thanks for replicating it. @All, I have been able to replicate it using Firefox using the Shift down arrow to select all the states/provinces using shift and the down arrow. I have also been able to replicate the same behavior selecting all the countries as well. At this point it would be nice to hear from a lackey. There is some funky behaviour replicated by two users on multiple web browsers. Thanks. Sloth96 Quote Link to comment
+sloth96
BTW another adventure down this road, I selected all the countries and only asked for virtual caches and got back a mix included multi's and traditionals. Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
I think sharing PQ URL is safe, so here's the one I created based on your criteria, and it's returning me the same result - only 1 cache out of the 4 returned matches. http://www.geocaching.com/pocket/gcquery.aspx?guid=7a8fac33-e492-454e-993c-bce2a49b7a8b Changing states to countries make no difference. And selecting none doesn't work, since that requires a point of origin and distance. Perhaps Markwell can help? Edited October 25, 2014 by Chrysalides Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
Incidentally, selecting only Germany returns 2 caches, and only 1 of them matches the criteria (not-partnership attribute). Quote Link to comment
+MartyBartfast
FWIW I changed the query to be centred on one of those caches with a 500mile radius and no country or state selected and it returns the same results. This is almost certainly a bug in the SQL query on the backend database. I know PQs are run on separate dedicated servers, but I don't know whether they run against the live database, or whether the live database is replicated to a copy for the PQ servers, if so I wonder if those other three have had that attribute previously and it's been removed, but that removal hasn't made it to the database which the PQs are run against? Definitely something a Dev/DBA needs to look at. Quote Link to comment
+Markwell
I did it in 32.0.03 Firefox and got four caches. I did it in IE 11 and got four caches. I did it in IE 10 and got four caches Quote Link to comment

Sloth96 This method is safe. The link will only show your PQ's settings. The called link will appear as a new PQ to us. Hans Quote Link to comment

Moun10Bike
Okay, we're aware of the problem and are working on it. Seriously, this has been an issue with several attributes over the years and will be resolved with changes that are already underway. Quote Link to comment
