Caches and colors

Hey everyone

 

I'm totally new to Geocaching, and just getting started. I've downloaded the Geocaching Intro app and the other official Geocaching app for my iPhone. I've noticed that there is a difference between the amount of caches that pops up in the two apps when i search on the map, and there are different colors of caches. Can anyone help me to understand why that is?? Thanks..

The intro app selects caches appropriate for beginners. The gray ones are temporarily unavailable for one of several reasons.

Ok, thanks. Can you tell then what the difference between the orange and the blue are??

Colours relate to the type of cache.

Green is Traditional

Yellow is Multi-cache

Blue is Unknown/Puzzle

If you've downloaded and are using the official Groundspeak app (the paid app), you may as well ditch the Intro app. The full app is all you'll need, there's no advantage to using the Intro app any longer. You'll see all available caches, including PMO caches since you are a Premium member.
