+SoCalDizzle
I've just received my 1st GPS today and am having some issues downloading my first querie. It could be that I'm on a work computer; however, the file saves as a ".LOC" and I'm unable to drag and drop to the GPS while it is connected via USB. Is there a specific app that I need to install on my computer to be able to copy the ".LOC" file or ? Please advise, and thank you for any helpful input that you can provide. +SoCalDizzle
Following up....I got it to work. Now I just need to figure out how to set the GPS to my location when I open the map. Quote Link to comment
+Atlas Cached
Premium members (you are one) should get GPX files, not .loc files. GPX files have much more information included. Just copy your GPX files to the \Garmin\GPX\ directory on your GPSr. You need to turn on the GPSr and let it sit outside under clear sky for about 15-20 minutes when you first get it, and any time it has been turned off for an extended time. This allows the GPSr to download the current satellite almanac and once it has a lock on your position, the map will open to your current location every time! Enjoy!
