+The Roadrunners!
I have recently moved to Guam, and I see a multitude of caches. That is great but I need to know what is the distance between placing the caches? In America it is 1.6 miles. Surely it is closer here on island. Thanks Charlotte and Mike the roadrunners! +DonB
It's actually .1 miles or 528 feet and as far as Groundspeak is concerned it should be the same anywhere. Quote Link to comment
+Sapience Trek
0.10mi equals about 160 meters. Looks like you have your units confused? Quote Link to comment

The Guidelines are not a regional thing. They apply to all locations. http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.book&id=11 B. Quote Link to comment
+Pond Bird
Geocaches are generally at least 500 feet away from any part for another geocache. But in reality, the law is 528 feet away from a geocache. Sapience Trek is right about the measurements. Edited September 6, 2015 by Pond Bird Quote Link to comment
Not4you
what is the significance of "528" specifically? just curious. Quote Link to comment
+niraD
what is the significance of "528" specifically? just curious.528 feet = 0.1 mile A lot of GPS receivers will display distances as decimal miles until the distance drops below 0.1 mile. Then they switch to feet. That may or may not be related to the decision to set the saturation guideline at 0.1 mile. Quote Link to comment
+barefootjeff
A lot of GPS receivers will display distances as decimal miles until the distance drops below 0.1 mile. Then they switch to feet. This is why the metric system is so much easier . Quote Link to comment

+coman123
.1 miles or 528 feet or 161 meters (ATCF) as the crow flies, very rarely will this rule be laxed Quote Link to comment
