+Clangador
I looked at the FAQ and the GPS page is 404. What GPS would you recommend to a noob? Quote Link to comment
+K13
I use an Oregon 450, bought used from the sales forum here. I works fine for me. Quote Link to comment
+kd0bik
I currently have the Garmin Oregon 600 and it works great. Before that I used the Garmin Oregon 300. It also worked very well. Jerry Quote Link to comment

+Coalforge
I bought an older Garmin on eBay for $30. It doesn't have the bells and whistles the new ones have but it has worked for the limited number of caches that I have looked for. It is frustrating to have the GPS tell me I am within a foot of the cache and I still don't find it but that is part of the learning curve. Knowing the ins and outs of the unit you get seems more important than having the newest unit. Quote Link to comment

DON'T get the Oregon 650 if you are interested in Wherigo. Garmin has dropped support for it and it is no longer installed on these units. Quote Link to comment

Had my eye on the 650 for some time, but now the 650 may become an also ran, not chosen. Edited October 11, 2015 by Mockingbird559 Quote Link to comment
+JeepFreak81
I love my etrex 20 for geocaching and it was reasonably priced new, there are lots of used ones around now Quote Link to comment
