Dakota 20

Recommended Posts

The SD doesn't make any difference on speed of the gps.

Even worse if the SD is to fast it might not even work on the gps, so buy a 'normal' sd card.

If the Dakota is really slow you might have some corrupted gpx file(s).

It's ok for me so can I add more gpx files on the the sd card

The use of many *.gpx files certainly won't speed up boot time, that's for sure. As a premium member, you really shouldn't have to go through the tedious process of loading them one by one from the web site and deleting them one by one later. The best use of your $30 is called a Pocket Query. See >>> http://www.geocaching.com/pocket/ Most of the time, I have only one *.gpx file on my GPS. Using the Pocket Query system directly, you couldn't load more than 2,000 caches (a couple of *.gpx queries worth) on a Dakota 20.

A Class 6 card is plenty fast enough for a Dakota 20, though these days, a Class 10 may wind up cheaper.
