tazzilla
I just bought the Legend CX used for $50 with a 128mb card I will use it for trail rides in the high country here in Idaho and a little geocaching. I just found out this will not allow paperless use. Is there any other down falls of this style unit? It uses a USB cable but never thought about being able to use if for paperless geocaching. My main use will be for way points and distance traveled and MPH and elevation. Thanks Taz Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
Garmin stats say that it will accept a 64MB microSD card. Maybe it will handle a 128, I dunno. Other than not being a paperless model, no real drawback to it. The Legend HCx however, has a better antenna. You may suffer some signal loss at times when the HCx would not have. High terrain and canopy will be your biggest signal killer. Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
Really? I understood max card size is 32Gb. .. at least that is what Garmin recommend. 64Gb cards aren't normally FAT32 formatted which is what Garmins normally require. https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/on-the-trail/discontinued/etrex-legend-cx/prod327.html In the specs tab, it states that it came (originally) with a 64mb micro.... not Gig.
