+DragonsWest
Yes, I could ad block it, but it's horrendous where you have a very slow connection. Does anyone think about these things? I thought it was pure hubris when PayPal did this on their page, I can't say I'm positive about seeing it one Geocaching.com Please discard it. Quote Link to comment

The only video I see is one where I have to click the link. If that's the one, then simplely don't click the link... MODS: disregard the report post, as you can see I meant to reply, not report. I believe if you come the the GC.com site and are not already logged in you get a big video playing of someone finding a cache. If you are signed in and the remember me is clicked you bypass this part and go right to your profile. Quote Link to comment
+MartyBartfast
When you log in tick the "keep me logged in" box, and it will bypass the video. or change your bookmark to http://www.geocaching.com/my/ which will take you straight to your profile page if you are logged in, or straight to the sign-in page if not; either way you won't see the video. +T.D.M.22
I'm not logged in and the home page is geocaching.com/play but right now I'm on my iPhone. Perhaps it's different from a mobe device... Quote Link to comment
+doc73
I have an android phone and I can log in on the web site with my phone and the remember me box is still there. On my phone it looks just like the Web page on the interwebs so I cannot help with iOS. I also usually use the dreaded app most times so I never see the video. Quote Link to comment

I find it kind of annoying. I also have bookmarked the above link but if I log out, head over to the forums here, then click on the "Visit Geocaching.com" tab (at the top of this Forums page, it goes back to the video. And the "keep me logged in" box has now become unchecked, go figger. Anyway, annoying but no biggy, I work around it. Quote Link to comment

Unless you're on a publicly accessible computer or have multiple GC accounts, I don't understand why you might log out. Edited January 25, 2015 by J Grouchy Quote Link to comment
+SwineFlew
I find it VERY annoying! So hard for me to find the log in area. UGH! If it isnt broken, why change it? Quote Link to comment
+popokiiti
It worked fine for me on my desktop (Windows) but not for the other half on a Mac laptop - they couldn't sign in! That issue seems to have been solved now. Quote Link to comment
+DragonsWest
I was on a week-long geo/OHV adventure with several other geocachers at the Roughneck Rendezvous at Ocotillo Wells, California. I had to use a mobile hotspot on a borrowed computer to connect and the video took up about 99% of the bandwidth - it was 'teh suk' until I was successful in logging in. Not all who are out geocaching have a T1 line at their beck and call. Quote Link to comment

Yeah, it sucks, but while waiting for Groundspeak to change it, I suggest doing what MartyBartfast suggested and just head straight to www.geocaching.com/my next time. Incidentally, you're showing your age (and me as well by commenting on it) - most mobile connections are faster than T1's 1.544 Mbps. If you had to connect to the site with T1, you'd probably say it's 'teh suk'. Quote Link to comment

This mobile hotspot was an iPhone and generally you are at the mercy of whatever connection you can get and how saturated it is downpipe. I adblock idiocy like auto-streaming video and sound is typically off unless I turn it on to listen to something. Edited January 27, 2015 by DragonsWest Quote Link to comment

GS, if you are reading this, get rid of it! Its annoying! Quote Link to comment
