Bullant1
We found geocoins/trackables at our first cache find today. We have been trying to log them but keep getting a message saying they don't exist. Would appreciate assistance with this. Cheers Bullant1 Quote Link to comment
+nevadanick
Here's a great place to start for info: trackables Each trackable has 2 unique codes. One is a number that starts with "TB......." *** The other is the 'secret code' that is engraved or imprinted somewhere on the trackable or travel tag. You need to use the NON-'TB' number to log the item. I say 'secret code' since that should never be posted or revealed to anyone except when you use it to log the item on gc.com - the 'TB' number can be used for all other details and searching for the trackable page. When you are on the log page for a trackable, ONLY the 'secret code ID' will work. Using the 'TB' number does not. Hope that helps. Quote Link to comment
+palmetto
Bullant1 - be careful of confusing similar appearing letters and numbers. All numbers and all letters are in use in tracking codes. So you may confuse a 1(one) with an l (ell), 0 (zero) O (letter O), 8 can look like B, 5 can look like S etc. Just keep trying substitutions. nevadanick - the number on the coin is the tracking code, the reference code does not appear on the coin, so it's unlikely that the original poster has tried to use it, as they've likely never seen it. +Bear and Ragged
Another option... Do they say Trackable at Groundspeak.com/Geocaching.com on them? Otherwise they are from another site. Quote Link to comment

Bullant1
Thanks for your replies. They have "geocaching.com.au - LOG THIS CODE - (7 numbers) - PATHTAGS.com". I will try the Pathtags site but if that fails I will be returning them to the cach for someone else more experienced to work out. I only took them because it is a rarely visited site due to access by boat. Cheers, Glen. Quote Link to comment

Cheaper than geocoins I guess. - Never entered the code on that alternate trackable site. Their own site says, "you are free to keep it for your collection". Try their site, but there are multiple coins with the same 'tracking' number. Best advice? Treat it as swag. Keep/trade as you wish. Quote Link to comment
