What is a good upgrade for Garmin GPSmap60Csx

Recommended Posts

Howdy,

I currently have a Garmin GPSmap 60CSx. I am happy with it, however my brother would like to upgrade his GPS (very old model - no computer download capabilities). He is looking for suggestions. Since the 60CSx does not appear to be available, just wondering what others would suggest......the 62 series (are they still available?) or the 64 series? I do think that money is an issue, so what would anyone suggest would give him the biggest bang for his buck?

thanks

Agreed. There's a learning curve but I went from a 60CSx to a 64s and am very pleased. They work differently, though, so be prepared to consult the manual to get things figured out.

I've been using a 62s for quite some time and really enjoyed using it. Today, I bought an Oregon 650, mainly because of the touchscreen capability. I haven't fired it up as yet so can't give you any feedback but two of my caching mates both have the Oregon 650s and are really impressed with them! I'll try my new toy over the next week or two and let you know how I go! :)

This.

We went from the CSx to the 62S and never looked back....great unit if you can get one appreciably cheaper than the 64S, if not go with the 64S.
