Hi. I'm relatively new to geocaching. I was introduced to it by my now ex girlfriend m_dm. She decided to dump me on valentines day and is now deleting my logs of finding her caches.... How is this right???

She never helped me find them, I did that by myself after she told me she had some hidden. I understand trying to delete me from her life, but me and my kids found those caches fair and square..... I'm so angry!!!

You may have cause to ask Groundspeak HQ to look in to this for you but don't assume they will automatically side with you if you don't have proof (say a photo of your signature on the log). Don't contact a reviewer, reviewers don't deal in disputes between geocachers.

The rules say that to claim a find you must have signed the log. No other variables affect that claim regardless of who may or may not have helped you to find it.

Check out this page which deals with what to do if your log has been incorrectly deleted.

Once you have followed the steps on this page, you can contact Groundspeak to look in to the matter on your behalf. Be prepared to give details of the GC codes (or specific log codes) and dates of the deleted logs. If you have photographic evidence of any of your finds, include these too. This is the contact page to use:

(...) is now deleting my logs (...)

If you want deleted logs reinstated, and you think it's worth the effort for everyone involved, then you could contact the powers that be and ask them about it. As I understand it, and I might be wrong because the "Help Center" article isn't very helpful on the subject, deleted logs remain stored and can be seen by the powers that be.

There might be more useful information in previous threads on these forums if you are prepared to search for them.

Or you might prefer to spend that time having fun and maybe finding new caches with your current team members.... :)

If you really want to do something about it, the above posts seem the way to go.

However, she only has 4 live caches Do you really need those few logs? Don't want to sound like an agony aunt but from a woman's point of view, I would be more pigged off if I saw your cache count going up & up and logs saying what a great time you and your kids are having!

There are some fabulous caches out there and some equally fabulous cachers who have set them. Don't get angry..........😀

+1

Yeah, I kinda agree (though not a woman).

Rather than get into yet another issue (sounds like you've had enough already...), and over just a few caches no less, I'd probably be the better person by simply forgetting it and move on.

You and your kids could have more fun without the unnecessary drama. :)
