+crazypig88
If I posted a dnf and then it was either archived or I found it again, would it matter if I deleted the dnf? Quote Link to comment
+T.D.M.22
Don't delete or change it. If it got archived you wouldn't delete a found it log. And either way what happens in the future- finding the cache or it being archived, doesn't change the fact you couldn't find it before. So just lea the DNF. Quote Link to comment
+lamoracke
There was a time that I deleted my DNFs when I found caches and over time I have realized that was wrong to do. DNFs are an important part of a cache, it gives future finders an idea of how tough a cache can be and it removes some of my history. Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
It does matter if you delete, or even change/edit a log. The logs (all log) are a part of the cache history, archived or no. Maybe you want to change history? Lots of history book writers try that all the time. +crazypig88
I haven't done it before, I was just wondering. Thanks for the responses! Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
There's one more reason not to delete a DNF log - it's just easier Only reason I can think of to delete a DNF is if I'm in a bad mood when I logged the DNF and felt, in hindsight, that my log is inappropriate. Damage is done, of course - the CO gets an email. So I try not to log when I'm in a bad mood. Quote Link to comment
Pup Patrol
I don't see the point in deleting dnf's. If you find it later, then that's a different time and action. It gives me a chuckle to read my dnf logs after I've found the cache (if I manage to find it later). Also, there's a challenge cache near me where the challenge is to have a certain number of "frowns turned upside down". If I delete my dnf logs, then that history is lost. A dnf is not a "failure", it's just part of the geocaching experience. B. Quote Link to comment
+refriedhippie
I agree with everyone before. Removing a DNF is like changing history, which can't be done (it can be covered up). It's all part of the process. If you found them all off the bat then it wouldn't be as much fun! The "hunt" is almost the best part, next to shuffling through the SWAG. Quote Link to comment
+BCandMsKitty
If I posted a dnf and then it was either archived or I found it again, would it matter if I deleted the dnf? I guess it wouldn't really "matter" except to your history of caching, but why would you bother? Serves no purpose at all. Quote Link to comment
