Good Items to Hide?

Hey guys,

I've hidden 4 caches so far but want something cheap to hide in all my caches that is both fun and has my geocaching username on it. I can get custom plastic coins, with shipping they're about $1.50 each, but I could get magnets (size of a business card) as well, and could get 50 of those for what I'm paying for 25 coins. Both would be customized with two "geodudes" on it - a male and a female one, designed to be fun for kids. So what do you think? Coin or magnets?

My favorite items to place are coins; real coins of different nations featuring Birds and other Wildlife. Some are common circulation issues, and others are proof strikes in Airtite holders. I *try* to get at least one Bird coin placed into every find, even micros, if possible.

I also place lots of bison tubes and carabiners. Also ball chains, bottle openers, keytags, Bird stamps, blank stainless steel pet tags, and split rings. And pens, o-rings, small Ziploc bags, and other items for cache maintenance.

For kids, I like to place pogs, kinis and balls. Also mini-spirographs and better quality "McToys". Other ideas coming soon.

In larger caches, I have placed flashlights and pet toys. Other items I have stocked for larger caches but not yet had the chance to place or forgot to bring include rolls of tape, whistles (in original blister packs), tennis balls, Slinkies, and new sleeves of golf balls.

In all of my own caches, I include a special FTF prize; a "trophy tag" medallion on a real stainless steel made-in-USA ball chain, designed and made especially for that cache. All my caches have also included coins, carabiners, pogs, and blank pet tags.

I am preparing an urban ammo can that already contains multiple coins, pogs, carabiners and bison tubes, as well as a mini spirograph, a pocket calculator, a laminated fold-out guide to the Raptors of western North America, a ball-bearing yo-yo, a world globe ball, a two-pack of pet tennis balls, a set of four different tweezers, a three-pack of Mickey Mouse pens, a roll of adhesive rubber magnet tape, a whistle, a flashlight a tape measure, a "retro style" pack of Silly Putty, a telescoping magnet wand, and a telescoping mirror wand. Also a Dinosaur book, a Dinosaur coloring book, two different Wildlife coloring books, and the 6 DVD set of all the episodes of the Australian television Wildlife series "In The Wild with Harry Butler". Other than the circulation coins, all items are new, and all those that came in packages are still in their packages.

I am still trying to shoehorn in a few more items.

Two trade items however that are great on their own, but must NEVER be cached or carried together are magnets and compasses. Whistles are great, but must always be supplied in their original sealed blister packs. Mine will also have labels that say "Do not open unless you are keeping it".

I am also designing smiley, FTF, CITO, "evil smiley" and Geocachers' logo magnets. Hopefully, coming to a cache near you soon!
