+Kharraz1
can anyone tell me what is the difference between Normal,WAAS,Demo Mode under "GPS System" option? What mode is best suited when geocashing? Also under satellite options it says "use with GPS OFF/ON" What does it do? Quote Link to comment
+Mineral2
Demo mode: you can play with the GPS and pretend to navigate to places, but it's not really communicating with the GPS satellites. Hence demo mode. Normal mode: The GPS communicates only with the satellites to estimate your location. WAAS: a system of ground-based towers that assist the GPS satellites in tracking your location. Typically, it's best to leave your device with WAAS turned on for added accuracy and signal retention. Quote Link to comment

+Gitchee-Gummee
Also under satellite options it says "use with GPS OFF/ON" What does it do? There could be occasion that you would want the unit itself turned on, but not using up battery-juice searching and/or holding satellite signals. It's mostly just an economy mode, say... for working on/with the unit, but actual sat-signal use is unnecessary. Quote Link to comment

+Red90
Wow, 2.90 is super old! A lot of big changes since then. There will also be a huge raft of bug fixes in there. http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3887 Quote Link to comment
