Finding Earth or Nature Cache

Hello, I'm fairly new to Geocaching, and I'm trying to complete the 7 Souvenirs of August. However the only one i'm going to be missing is the nature/earth cache. Is there a way to complete this one if there is no CITO event in my area? I tried looking on my map for an earth cache, but I didn't see one. Maybe someone can help me. If needed my zip is 93274 (Tulare Ca, USA) Thanks

I don't know how far that is for you, but there are many EarthCaches in Sequoa National Park. One is off the 198 just inside the national park. http://coord.info/GC2Z7NJ

This one: http://coord.info/GC1AV4E is in the other direction.

And there's yet another one in Fresno: http://coord.info/GC498V4

Otherwise you could have a look at the CITO guidelines and see if you can make them work in your area. It does take some preparation though. Or ask around your local community if someone wants to organize one.

I understand that they are not the same thing. I need one or the other to complete the 7 Souvenirs of August. However, I was also having a hard time finding any earth caches in my area. But thanks to Terratin they showed me where there was some near me.

You also can go to this page

https://www.geocaching.com/myaccount/sevensouvenirs?utm_source=homepage&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=7SofA

and click on the icon of souvenirs you have not yet earned. This will list you all the nearby caches of the required type.

If none are listed because the closest are too far away, you can edit the ds=25 in the address line by

ds=your number (unit is miles), e.g. ds=60 will provide you with all unfound caches of the required type within 60 miles of your provided

home coordinates.
